Coming soon... a short story compilation on Smashwords!
We can dispute a lot of things in this world, but not this: For every word I write, the world improves, just a little. Such is the power of my fiction. I would be more than a bit surprised if, at the end of my 2,500 year career (I plan on achieving immortality at some point), all of life's little ills will not have been solved, global warming hasn't reversed, the world's population doesn't stabilize, and Mars will not have become a teeming beacon of civilization. Oh, and Earth too, I guess.
Okay, so maybe we can dispute that, but one thing we definitely can't deny: My short stories are the most popular things on my site. The Devil Still Has My Lawnmower has raked in close to 5,000 readers and 8 Ball and Ouija Board has brought in close to 700. People, it seem, like the cut of my jib.
So, the next logical step is, why not box that jib up in a neat little package and sell it to people?
And that's exactly what I'm going to do! After some quick editing and a new cover by Kent Mudle of Beretcomic.com (the guy that did my swell Mister Mercury cover), I'm going to release a short story compilation entitled The Devil Still Has My Lawnmower & Other Tales of the Weird on that self-publisher's wet dream, Smashwords. It will have 7-9 short stories in it (depending on which ones I choose to keep), some of which aren't even on my website! That's right, you'll have to actually buy it if you want to read that one short story about that girl who launches her query letter into deep space and accidentally causes a holy war in another galaxy.
All told, it'll be about 80 pages, and will be less than $5. It might even be ready by the end of the month, if not the next few weeks!
Stay tuned. And stay classy.
